‘BonBon;’ A Candy Inspired Photography Project!
Welcome to ‘BonBon,’ a photography collection that takes you on a thrilling ride through a sweet and colourful embrace. With swirls of dreams and bold, saturated colours, this series brings a one-of-a-kind candy inspired vibe to digital imagery. Additionally, this candy themed photoshoot celebrates creativity, boldness, and vibrant editing—a visual feast for anyone who loves eye-catching art.
Behind the Scenes: Months in the Making
‘BonBon’ wasn’t an overnight creation. It took months of careful planning, experimentation, and refining to bring this colourful vision to life. One memorable part of the preparation was a blue beehive wig I initially planned to use. I decorated it with lollies, attaching them with super glue to enhance the candy-inspired theme. However, the humid weather had other plans, causing the lollies to melt onto the wig; a sticky yet unforgettable lesson in creative problem-solving. I then had to come up with a bold last-minute decision; it was either try to create a beehive hairstyle myself or get the MUA to do it. I was chatting with Sarah the MUA, and on the day, we both decided that a bridal bun sitting high up would be fabulous. I wanted to add some unique touches, including strands, a blue braid, lollipops, and even blue hair colouring. Sarah miraculously brought this vision to life and saved the day! From months of planning to a last minute decision, I believe it all randomly worked out for the better!
The Art of Bold and Saturated Editing
The colourful and bold editing style in ‘BonBon’ was no accident. By intentionally amplifying the saturation and vibrancy of each image, I wanted to capture the playful energy that defines this collection. The result is a candy-coated dreamscape that feels both whimsical and electrifying, a true reflection of my artistic vision.
Celebrating the Team
Every great photoshoot relies on collaboration, and ‘BonBon’ is no exception. A huge thank you to Ashley, who modeled for the first time with incredible bravery and grace. Little did she know how bold and daring the final images would turn out, but she owned it every step of the way.
A special shoutout also goes to Sarah for her stunning makeup artistry. Her work perfectly complimented the candy-inspired theme, adding that extra touch of magic that brought everything together seamlessly.

A Poetic Touch
This week, I stumbled upon a poem that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of ‘BonBon:’
"You think I overcomplicate everything,
I think I decorate everything."
— J.K. Kennedy
This line resonates deeply with the playful and colourful energy of this project. It’s a reminder that adding boldness and creativity isn’t about overcomplication, it’s about bringing creativity and fun into the world.
